The dive area consists of a large network of rocks and pinnacles, creating an impressive underwater atmosphere. When visibility is good, divers can extend the dive to explore neighboring rock formations, making each dive unique. New Rock is home to big groupers, large Napoleon wrasse, and a wide variety of reef fish that move between the rock structures. Malu Gala is one of the most unique and special dive sites in Bentota, offering a truly unforgettable underwater journey. The site is formed by small rock formations of almost equal size, stretching for nearly 400 meters—creating the feeling of a long natural reef beneath the ocean. The seabed lies mostly between 20 and 24 meters, meaning bottom time is limited, but every minute of this dive is packed with action. The diversity of marine life here is exceptional, with over 100 varieties of fish recorded—from tiny reef species to massive Napoleon wrasse cruising above the rocks. Malu Gala is especially famous for its large tiger lobsters, often hidden deep within rock crevices. Schools of fish move continuously along the reef, making this dive feel alive from start to finish. Mada Gala hosts a wide variety of marine life, from colorful reef fish to macro species, making it a great dive for photographers and marine enthusiasts alike. With its moderate depth and diverse habitats, Mada Gala provides an exciting dive experience that’s different from its neighboring sites.

Y Gala is a stunning dive site that extends from Mada Gala along a different path, offering a mix of reef, swim-throughs, small caves, and sandy patches. Divers can enjoy a continuous exploration for up to 40 minutes, either looping back to Mada Gala or continuing until reaching sandy bottoms. This site is ideal for Open Water and Advanced divers, with abundant marine life including all kinds of reef fish, making it perfect for photography and leisurely exploration. Its combination of reef features and rock formations creates a varied and immersive underwater experience.

Godin Gala is located close to the shore near Beruwala Beach, which inspired its name. This rocky dive site features coral patches and a wide variety of reef fish, making it ideal for Open Water divers. Godin Gala offers a scenic, accessible, and enjoyable dive experience close to the shore.

Diyamba Gala is a deep rock formation dive site in Bentota, recommended only for advanced divers. With its starting depth of 17 meters and descending to 30 meters at the sandy bottom, this site offers an exhilarating dive experience. The rock formation, shaped like a loaf of bread, is home to big groupers, Napoleon wrasse, and abundant schools of reef fish. Stronger currents bring even more fish close to the rocks, making it a spectacular site for underwater photography and marine life observation. With consistently good visibility, Diyamba Gala provides a thrilling deep-water adventure and one of the richest fish experiences in the Bentota region.

Bentota Point is a perfect beginner dive site in Bentota, where most divers complete their first two Open Water dives and practice essential scuba skills. Located just 10 minutes from the shore and close to the public beach, it is very accessible for new divers.
